Supernova

The first Supernova picture that ever been taken
Ancient people had been interested on the sky, Mayan with Sun worship, Egyptian with their Pyramid, English with Stonehenge, and may more, they observed the sky to find why there are many thing on the space surrounding our planet Earth? Why the Moon is orbiting in the Earth, why Planet Saturn had a ring? And one of the interested thing is Supernova, why a star can be exploded?
After hundreds year astronomer only can see supernova by naked eyes or by telescope from earth, now we can taken clear picture of Supernova by using Hubble Telescope that orbiting our planet in the outer space.

February 24, 1987
This is the first picture of Supernova that can be captured by astronomer, using Hubble Space Telescope. Called as Supernova 1987A (SN1987A)

The news about Supernova appearing.

The first recorded news about Supernova appearing is from China astronomers, in 187. they were saw the bright object on the sky, 20 times bright than star. and disappeared after several weeks.

In October 1604, People can saw a supernova in the Milky Way galaxy, this was became visible supernova from Earth. It was bright enough to be seen at night with the naked eye for more than a year.

On March 28, 1993, astronomer saw a supernova in the galaxy M 81, Astronomers noticed a huge red-colored star called a red giant before it exploded and became a supernova.

On February 24, 1987, one of the closest supernovas in centuries occurred in the Large Magellanic Cloud, only 160,000 light-years from Earth. A light-year is a measure of distance equal to the distance that light travels in a year, or 9.5 trillion km (5.9 trillion mi). This supernova was visible from the southern hemisphere. Since this eruption, scientists have learned that its parent star may have once been a hot blue star with a mass about 20 times that of the Sun. The star probably swelled into a red giant star before it exploded
